Darkfall Day 13
David X. Messer does some gathering and crafting in Darkfall today, and doesn't get his herbs stolen this time.
Another slack day in Darkfall. Having spent some time cutting down trees and mining ore it was now the turn of fishing/cooking and flower picking.
The way I look at it is this. The earlier I level fishing and cooking the earlier I get to forget about it. And it's not like WoW where you're expected to sit there for hours on end just clicking away. The whole, you can fish/mine/chop wood for as long as your stamina bar holds out does make things a lot less tedious. Though it's just tedious in a entirely different way.
I might just be imagining this, or the boredom got to me, but I was pretty certain that with only 45 minutes of fishing I found myself fully encumbered where as mining for 2 hours and I was nowhere near. Seemed a bit strange!
I'm already catching lobsters, which I can't do anything with until I level my cooking some more. So then being somewhat obsessive about these things I've been trying to level my cooking at the same time as fishing.
Sometime last week I'd purchased Alchemy and had a brief go at using it in the deserted city north of out hamlet, only to be ganked shortly afterwards and I lost all of the herbs I had on me at the time. This time around I was careful enough to only take a small amount out of the bank before starting crafting. So now my Alchemy is coming along nicely and I should be able to crafy my own stamina/health potions which should come in handy for the weeks ahead.
