Last year, at Eastercon, I picked up an armful of vintage zines. They were literally being given away for nothing, some dating back to the 60s, but most of them from the 70s and 80s. I had a vague resolution to make a zine myself, but had forgotten about it since. It was all brought back, though, by an article on the Guardian site by Simon Reynolds, in which he details a few modern zines, and says that, "Although it's hard to quantify, it feels like the fanzine is making a resurgence in the face of digital culture". It's an interesting notion, and I may yet get around to making one.
