City Diorama
A colleague in work - a mysterious, "sexy and exciting colleague", he says, and who am I to disagree - pointed me at this city diorama. It's absolutely magnificent. Scroll down, too, for work in progress pictures. And according to some discussion on the second page, both the buildings themselves and the moulds could be bought for what seems like entirely reasonable money, considering. I have neither room nor skills for this kind of thing, but I'd love to be able to do it.

With some building like that you could really film some awesome stuff. I built a small set in my basement last year. Ended up being a bust, but I would love to do something on a bigger scale.
