Doctor Who: The Five Doctors
Much though I've been slagging Russell Davies for his re-use of material in the second season of Doctor Who, there's definitely precedent: the quintuple whammy of The Five Doctors. I've just finished reading the novelisation of this movie-length piece, and it contains five Doctors, a Dalek, Cybermen, the Master, Rassilon, and a huge number of companions, plus miscellaneous Gallifreyans and Time Lords. William Hartnell's First Doctor appears in archive footage, and was also played - Hartnell having died before the episode was filmed - by Richard Hurndall. Tom Baker didn't really appear, but his Fourth Doctor was wrangled into the script using used footage from other episodes.
I'm not inclined to go much easier on RTD, but at least there's some sense of continuity in the reappearance of old threads and characters.
