Doctor Who: Season Two Finale Speculation

There's been a lot of speculation, across the web, and even here on dukestreet.org about the season finale for Doctor Who. Some of my own speculation follows, and may or may not contain spoilers.

So, Rose's this-is-where-I-died intro to Army of Ghosts makes it clear that something happens. I can't see it being a literal, permanent death, though - for one point, her narration then becomes hard to justify.

Beth said, in comments on this post:

However there is a rumor that she donsn't really die and that The face of boe's secret was that-he tells the doctor at christmas. Then the doc searches for her-so she'll be back part time but not as his proper companion.

and Jonathon D Wint supplies this theory:

Rose was completely altered by the tardis when she looked into it’s heart. And the tardis has only one male time lord and will act on it’s own to ensure the survival of the time lord race. Maybe rose’s human body with one heart will die only to be reborn/regenerated in to a body with two hearts. (her mother had a sort of premonition that her daughter was losing her humanity.) Knowing the tardis prime directives it would make sense as it would be well with in it’s power.

Both are entirely possible. I like the notion of Rose as a Time Lord, and that would cover the notion of her occasional appearance in Season 3. And I've remarked myself on the Face of Boe's plotline being left open. Indeed, the combination of the two could happen.

I'm guessing the episode goes something like this: there's a war between the Daleks and the Cybermen. Rose gets killed in or near the Tardis, and her body vanishes. The Doctor and/or Mickey are instrumental in protecting humans from the warring mechanoids. Alternate Pete Tyler breezes in, knocks Jackie over with a feather, and carries her off. And at the end, there's a showdown where the Doctor is trapped, Mickey is injured or dead, Rose is missing, presumed dead, the Tylers senior have fled back to the alternate world (what's on the other side of that gate 600 feet above London?) and the Daleks and Cybermen are closing in. Let's see how far off I am.

Note that
1) We saw Rose's body very much alive and kicking when she started her narrative of the penultimate episode. She's remembering and looking back, but she hasn't lost her body or become unrecognisably unhuman.
2) "Dying" of self is a very common metaphor to describe the loss of a loved one. "This is where I died" and "This is where it all changed forever" may imply that Rose is one way or another dumped by the Doctor - perhaps accidentally, perhaps deliberately. She stated herself that she had been wrong thinking that she would stay forever with him.

I have rumours of my own I want to share:

Alternate Pete Tyler goes to live with Jackie Tyler in her apartment. Rose gets in the TARDIS as the doctor fights of the cybermen and daleks. Rose passes out in the TARDIS. The doctor gets away and takes Rose to her mums apartment. When rose wakes up, Jackie and Pete tell her the doctor has gone, and he couldn't look after her any more. She runs to the window as the TARDIS leaves....

If she was a Cyberman/Dalek then she wouldn't be talking like a real person, would she? New theory: She does die, but the Doctor can go to places all through time and see her, can't he? Maybe even before she met Doctor No. 9...

She doesn't die, because at the start of Army Of Ghosts, that's her talking now.
