Cultural Borrowings
There's an article on cultural borrowings in World of Warcraft on Terra Nova. I've been doing some thinking about this myself as I plot stuff for House of Worms, and I'm coming to the conclusion that I should be looking to modern reimaginings of Romanian folklore for inspiration - the obvious Dracula, but also things like Van Halen, and the whole gothic horror reworking of Ravenloft.
