Man, you're way behind.
The old price cap was coupling arrays. You could buy them and refine them for a chunk of megacyte and a bunch of tritanium. You ended up with a price cap of around 2.35. This lasted for, literally, months.
Then they removed it, by reducing the amount of tritanium gained. And, yeah, there's been huge whiplashes all over the place - tritanium prices have jumped from 2.35 to (as of this writing) 3.4, and I suspect they'll head up to the new cap of 3.6.
3.6 is, incidentally, the shuttle price cap, and always has been. So here we are. It's a matter of a week or two before we hit it, at most, IMHO.
