I'm going to say here and now that Rose _does not die_ at the end of the series. It's too obvious at this point - actress leaving, prophecy of DOOM, her arc's played out. I'm guessing Rose either leaves in some sort of triumph, decides to go home, or possibly gets stuck on the wrong side of the dimensional barrier (if the alt-universe Cybermen do come back).

the cybermen and the daleks circle round rose. they all get ready to fire at each other rose realises if she wants to save the doctor and the world she has to die. the cybermen and the daleks shoot eachother and in the process rose dies. then so does the cybermen and the daleks.
watch out for the black dalek and the cybermen with the black handlebars!!

As for Rose dying I dont think she does its just her telling a story later. I hope she goes off with Mickey and Pete Tyler stays with Jackie now he is the sucsessfull Pete she always wanted but who knows. God I wish it was Saturday.

someone said they'd be no previous seen doctor who bad guys at all. How wrong they were.
By the way is it just a strange coincidence that the Daleks are protecting something called the Genesis Ark in the new trailer?
Only that in the fourth series (Tom Baker) There was an episode called Genesis of the Daleks.
Just a hunch here. But I suspect that Rose will be forced to "Prepare for Cyber Conversion"....or I guess now it's "Prepare to be upgraded." Just a hunch. To the best of my knowledge the only companion to die was Adric (I could be wrong). So why not Cyber Convert Rose. It would be interesting, he's never lost a companion that way, and we could have a Cyber-Rose in the future at some point who's mostly freed from the Cybermen. It would also be somewhat ironic if AU Jackie Tyler is the one that upgrades her.

Personally, I think Rose's departure will have something to do with her having looked into the Time Vortex at the end of last series, maybe she doesn't die but transcendes to become the Bad Wolf, or have I just been watching to much Stargate?

If you look at the 2007 annual of Doctor Who you will see loads an loads of Dalek ships(This is the David Tennant annual). so this could mean loads of Daleks against the cybermen! Also I have a very strong feeling that the Genesis Ark is Davros. Also can u remember in the parting of the ways the ann droid didnt kill the 3 daleks, she shot then so they went to another part of the universe. Could these 3 gold daleks be them? I have a theory which probably isnt worth listeing to but here goes - I think that rose might regenarate because she looked into the heart of the TARDIS and nobody is supposed 2 do that! I've heard a rumour the face of boe will reveal its secret in Series 3. I was half expecting the face of boe to reveal his secret during series two. Overall, a different season but in all honesty, I still have a soft spot for season one and christopher eccleston but David Tennant has grown on me over time. I'm looking forward to the christmas special and season 3.

But that's doctor who for you - it's about the relationship/friendship between him and rose (or was about that) not his problem solving capabilities! Devastated that Rose is leaving - think her shoes might be harder to fill than Christopher Eccleston's but if she comes back next season I will be happy, boarderline ecstatic. Loved Doomsday - there were tears. This season felt like it had more closure than the first - partly because we know Catherine T is only in it for the Christmas special and otherwise I don't think there are any real (official) teasers for next year - everything is speculation. Can't wait for the Christmas special!
